FACULTY BIOS: ACHIEVEMENTS
Distinguished faculty members expand their roles at the Academy Michael Acquilano has been appointed to the newly created position of Assistant Head of Upper School. Mr. Acquilano will remain our college counselor, and he will assume additional responsibilities for the Upper School academic program. With his new assignment, Mr. Acquilano’s expertise in college preparation will be extended to support Upper School students’ academic schedules, program choices, the Advanced Placement Program, grade reports, and curriculum initiatives. The timing for this transition for Mr. Acquilano is excellent, because it falls at the conclusion of his year as president of the New York State Association of College Admissions Counselors. Eileen Corigliano has been appointed to the newly created position of Assistant Head of School for Middle and Upper Schools. Ms. Corigliano will have direct oversight of two divisions, and she will have additional staff, who will become members of her management team for Grades 5 through 12. Capitalizing upon Ms. Corigilano’s excellent work running the Middle School for the past four years, all students in Grades 5-12 will benefit from her leadership and expertise. Patricia Lynch will continue in her role as Head of Lower School and will assume additional responsibility for curriculum coordination through Grade 6, so that we can take advantage of her expertise and training. Ms. Lynch’s new title will be Head of Lower School and Curriculum Coordinator, Grades Pre-K through 6.
