STANLEY LIBRARY

The Stanley Library, located in Haugen Hall, is the heart of the Academy. The library contains over 17,500 volumes of print and non-print materials, and it subscribes to over 50 magazines, newspapers, and online databases. It has an automated circulation and cataloguing system, and ten computers with Internet access. Search our catalog online!

The library is open and staffed by a full-time librarian and a part-time librarian from 8am-5pm Monday through Thursday and from 8am-4pm Friday. It is a research center, study and recreational reading area, and a center for classroom instruction under a teacher or librarian's supervision.

The existing library collection includes books from the Janet Comtois Stirn Memorial Collection, and the Winter Library book collection. It also houses the Stilwell Music Collection.

Online Databases
The Stanley Library subscribes to a vast array of online databases that are available to Academy students, faculty and staff. The collection includes EBSCOHost, Facts on File, Grolier Online, Historical New York Times and Proquest. Visit SIA NET for a complete listing of links to the databases and the usernames and passwords required for off-campus access.

Library Programs
The Stanley Library invites all students and their parents to join us for a series of book discussions. We are hosting these special gatherings for parents and their children to come together and talk about an assigned book. There is also an active Upper School student book group. This group of students meets 4 or 5 times each year to discuss a book of their choosing.
