NEWS AND EVENTS: LUNCH MENU
Staten Island Academy maintains a “Fresh & Healthy” menu program. Lower in salt, sugar and fat, the daily menu choices include at least one vegetarian option, fresh fruit, a variety of lower fat and enriched grain products, and low fat/fat free milk and milk products. CulinArt, the Academy's food management company since 1995, uses only trans fat free oils when preparing foods and follows the USDA dietary guidelines for “Fresh & Healthy” menu items. All Academy students are permitted to bring their own lunch from home. Students in Grades Pre-K through 4 are served, at no charge, one beverage (milk or fruit juice) and one dessert (fruit or appropriate snack) each day. Lower School Parents who want their child to eat the school lunch must subscribe to the Declining Balance Plan. Students in Grades 5 – 12 may purchase lunch and snacks on an a la carte basis by either using the SIA Declining Balance Plan or cash. Visit SIA NET for daily menus and selection form downloads. |
